Asbestos Awareness

Asbestos has been identified as the single biggest industrial disease. It is classified as a Class 1 carcinogen and currently, in the UK, it accounts for more than 5000 deaths per year. It is widely predicted that the figure will rise to around 10,000 deaths per year in the UK alone. It is expected that the deaths from asbestos related diseases will peak between 2010 & 2020.

You must ensure that your company is compliant with HSE Regulations. Non compliance risks a custodial sentence/prosecution, personal fines and disqualification from directorship.

Training is Mandatory for anyone who is involved in disturbing the fabric of a building, as stated in the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006. Ascent Training offers a range of training courses. Training is delivered in our hi-tech, custom built, training centre in Peterborough. Alternatively bespoke in-house training can be arranged on clients own premises. Please call for details.
